Solar Vest Charges Devices as You Toil Under the Hot Sun
By Dave Peterson | July 3, 2009

Ready for a fashion statement that says, “Give me a sunny day and I’ll give you a cell phone that’s always charged”? Then try out this vest from Chinavasion. The CVFR-S09 Solar Vest packs four solar panels in pouches on its back, to store up to 8,800mAh in a battery built into the vest. The battery will output its stored charge to small electronics like phones or MP3 players, and even a laptop computer. If you find yourself spending too much time in the shade, the panels and battery are detachable, allowing you to place them in full sunlight. A number of adapter plugs are supplied with the vest for use with a range of devices. The Solar Vest is $140, with discounts available for quantity purchases.
