Control Your iPod While Keeping Your Hands Warm

    By Dave Peterson | November 7, 2008

As winter rolls in, many rejoice at the impending start of ski season.  But skiing brings bulky gloves, and that brings the heartbreak of difficult iPod operation.  It’s hard to resist the freedom of blazing down the slopes, but to do so without proper control of one’s music?  That’s just unacceptable.  The good news is there are a couple of companies that feel the same way and have taken steps to make sure no one has to choose one over the other.

Both Reusch and Kombi make gloves that can wirelessly operate your iPod from controls on the back of the glove.  The Kombi iRip goes for $149.95 at Hammacher Schlemmer, while Reusch USA offers the Sonic Control (pictured) for $220 at their site.  They may cost more than your player did, but the time spent skiing rather than digging your fumbled iPod out of a snow bank could well be worth it.

These are awesome! I am going to have to pass on this link to my husband. He loves taking his iPod on ski trips. I just listen to mine on the lift.
