Taking Your Wireless LAN with You
By Dave Peterson | November 5, 2008

A number of iPhone/iPod Touch games will allow multiplayer competition across a network, but there isn’t always one handy when you find a like-minded gamer. Enter the G-Fi VS, an ad hoc Wi-Fi network you can carry in your pocket. This little hub (about 3″ x 3″) kicks out an 802.11 b or g network with a 100-foot range. While it’s being pitched primarily to mobile gamers, this is a fully capable Wi-Fi network that can just as easily link a group of notebook computers at a conference or LAN party. The lithium ion battery provides 6 hours of network uptime between charges.
The G-Fi VS ships this month at a price of $149.
