Apple Devices Double Storage
By Dave Peterson | February 5, 2008
Apple today began selling expanded-storage iPhones and iPod Touches. The Touch now comes in three sizes, 8 GB ($299), 16 GB ($399) and 32 GB ($499). The iPhone is now offered in two sizes, 8 GB ($399) and 16 GB ($499). First, I take full cause-and-effect credit for the bigger iPhone, as I bought an 8 GB model two weeks ago. Second, I’m feeling better than ever about my 2008 wish for the iPhone to hit 32 GB with in the year. That now seems very likely, probably when we get a real 2.0 release later in the year (3rd quarter, I’m guessing). When you think that the iPod Touch was first released just a little over four months ago, this seems a pretty speedy doubling of its top storage.
